Abstract

COUTO, Richard  and  ALBERTI, Sonia. Moses and truth: return to the question of historical truth. Trivium [online]. 2013, vol.5, n.1, pp. 85-102. ISSN 2176-4891.

This article examines truth in Freud. Our intention is to demonstrate that if there is a concept of truth in Freud's work, then it is circumscribed by the concept of historical truth, present in his book Moses and Monotheism (1939). Our hypothesis is that the historical truth is always linked to the subject of the unconscious and is to be distinguished from the truth of factual history. The article also works the following formulation: repressed truth which was forgotten in history and by history, is the murder of the father of the primal horde, and that is repeated in Moses.

Keywords : truth; historic truth; Moses; symptom.
