Abstract

RIVERA, Tania. Art as dissident bond: note on the Landscape Handle by Laura Lima. Trivium [online]. 2013, vol.5, n.2, pp. 47-51. ISSN 2176-4891.

This essay proposes the hypothesis of the dissent as a kind of social bond that offers a counterweight to Freudian conception of the mass. Within a dialogue with Laura Lima's work Man=flesh/woman=flesh landscape handle (1999-2013), we try to conceive the notion of "dissident gesture" as a fundamental invitation addressed to the other by art. Instead of signification and identification, the dissent bound is based in transmission and subject effect, at the same time it leads to a reversal of the Imaginary to let emerge something about the Real.

Keywords : Contemporary art; Dissent; Real; Laura Lima.
