The article presents a journey through literary, philosophical and psychoanalytic texts on that which escapes the symbolic order and constitutes a rest or defect in the universe. Odradek, character from a small story of Kafka, is taken as an example. In the second part it is highlighted how, in Freud and Lacan, the subject deals with this defect in the universe, already understood as Real.
