Abstract

VIANA, Carlos Augusto  and  SANTANA, José Rogério. Reading of four Ivan Junqueira's Sonnets. Trivium [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.2, pp. 192-198. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2017v2p.192.

Since the poetry of Ivan Junqueira is a constant challenge to the reader, and for this reason is often considered as hermetic, our intention in this article is, supported by hermeneutics , to read four of his sonnets to point out some singularities of his writing: the awareness of rhythm, fruit of his mastery of metric and rhyme, which results in intense musicality; the deviation of language, because, in his poetry, words often establish one with other unusual alliances leading the reader to the experience of strangeness; thematic diversity, which takes the reader to the most unexpected territories. On account of these factors, each of the sonnets will be traversed almost verse by verse, as a strategy to approach, as much as possible, an interpretation that, even though it is not the last one - the work of art is always open - at least may be in part legitimate.

Keywords : IVAN JUNQUEIRA; BRAZILIAN LITERATURE; POETRY.
