Abstract

COELHO, Rosana de Souza  and  JORGE, Marco Antônio Coutinho. Religious fundamentalism and its ethical and political vicissitudes. Trivium [online]. 2018, vol.10, n.1, pp. 11-23. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2018v1p.11.

The article thematizes the upsurge of religious fundamentalism in contemporary times using the metapsychology and the Lacan's theory of the discourses. Dialogue with authors of the others areas to corroborate the undeniable link between religion and politics. It investigates the crucial role of belief in the maintenance of religious power and proposes a structural homology between the master's discourse and religious discourse. Finally, it points to the sources of malaise stemming from the social bond established by religious discourse by distilling an ethic that propagates the fear of the other and institutes the politic of annihilation of difference in the name of eternal peace.

Keywords : RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALISM; PSYCHOANALYSIS; POLITIC; ETHIC; POWER.
