Abstract

AUDINO, Tatiana Fagundes; PACHECO-FERREIRA, Fernanda  and  HERZO, Regina. The imperative of happiness these days. Trivium [online]. 2018, vol.10, n.1, pp. 49-59. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2018v1p.49.

This article aims to explore one of the facets of contemporary suffering: the pursuit of happiness as an imperative. We present Freud's opinion on the impossibility of realization of the modern human project of happiness, in contrast with the duty to be happy dominant nowadays. To elucidate the question, we employ some arguments from other fields of knowledge, such as psychiatry, sociology and anthropology.

Keywords : MALAISE; HAPPINESS; DEPRESSION; CONTEMPORARINESS.
