Abstract

GUTIERREZ, Ana Lucía Argüelles  and  COTA, Víctor Javier Novoa. Validity of the contributions of Freud about delusional and hallucinatory phenomena in neuroses. Trivium [online]. 2018, vol.10, n.1, pp. 60-73. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2018v1p.60.

In this paper, we investigate the various Freudian hypothesis on the topic of madness especially in hysteria, considering the mechanisms and the psychic processes involved in this neurosis. Our purpose is to evaluate if these theories are still valid, if they can guide us in understanding contemporary clinical problems, when the diagnosis of schizophrenia is frequently applied to cases that from another perspective belong to hysterical madness. To reach our objective, we also turn to contemporary authors who follow the ideas of Freud and recognize some of the phenomenon of madness as part of neurotic symptoms.

Keywords : MADNESS; HYSTERIA; DELUSIONS; HALLUCINATION; REPUDIATION; DISAVOWAL.
