Abstract

The loss causes pain, and its higher or lower intensity always depends on the individual who feels it. Without acceptation by the victim, the acute phases of suffering will appear with high frequency, eventually becoming attached and turning into a permanent status instead of phases. The pacifying word, the gentle and humorous gesture, the listening ears - available resources in senior residential care -, constitute a powerful and synergistic solution, capable of attenuate the inevitable suffering. With this article we aim to demonstrate it.
