Abstract

LOURES, José Maurício  and  BORGES, Sonia. Francesca Woodman: portrait of the artist when stained. Trivium [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.1, pp. 38-45. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2019v1p.38.

This article proposes a reflection on the limits of the space of representation from the art of the American photographer Francesca Woodman. To approach the ways of creation in the photographs of this artist with the theoretical reference of psychoanalysis, will allow a discussion about of the art's potential to create representations capable of criticizing the representational nature itself, in order to put it into crisis, to radically break it down, denouncing the opacity of the subject and his objects.

Keywords : FRANCESCA WOODMAN; PHOTOGRAPHY; PSYCHOANALYSIS; REPRESENTATION.
