Abstract

PIZZIMENTI, Enzo Cléto; SILVA, Isis Graziele Da  and  ESTEVAO, Ivan Ramos. Of the free fall to the encounter with the other in the social networks: a narcissism's study. Trivium [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.1, pp. 85-98. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2019v1p.85.

One of the effects of the psychoanalysis advance in the social field is the psychoanalytic terms appropriation by popular discourse. An example is the indication that the social networks contemporary use would be narcissistic. In order to verify the theoretical-clinical relevance of this term's current use, the present article aims to rescue the Freudian notion of narcissism, to consider whether the use of this term to characterize the social networks' use is compatible with its psychoanalytic understanding. On this way, we used the analysis of a Black Mirror's episode.

Keywords : NARCISSISM; PSYCHOANALYSIS; SOCIAL NETWORK; BLACK MIRROR.
