Abstract

KUNTZEL, Thierry. The film-work.Translated byAmadeu de Oliveira Weinmann. Trivium [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.2, pp. 132-145. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2019v2p.132.

This paper consists in a contribution to film studies, inspired by Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams. In this sense, we propose a disregard to the spectacle dimension of the film, aiming to approach its composition work - which is made through the decomposition shot-by-shot of Fritz Lang's M (1931) initial sequence. Aiming to analyze visual and sound signs of the plot with models different from linguistic ones, we suggest comprehending a film as a figurative script. Through the rearrangement of filmic signifiers, it is possible to highlight the Other scene that is subjacent to the narrative.

Keywords : PSYCHOANALYSIS; CINEMA; FILM-WORK; FIGURATIVE SCRIPT; OTHER SCENE.
