Abstract

The current study will discuss some implications of partial or total penectomy on masculinity, in order to analyze in what way this man can suffer impacts due to his organ amputation. This task used the psychoanalysis theoretical concepts and other theories like drive body, sexuality, Oedipus Complex and castration, and the identifications in the constitution of the subjectivity supported by culture. Through bibliographic review, the goal was to enlighten how important the penis is and the meaning of the phallu's primacy, comprehending that the organ's removal may generate an identitary wound, the dessexualization towards interactions with females and a struggle regarding sexuality redirectioning.
