Abstract

NICOLAU, Roseane Freitas. Who Wants to Know About the Lack? Psychoanalysis in Dark Times. Trivium [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.spe, pp. 34-41. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2021vNSPEAp.34.

This paper confronts the policy of lack-of-being that guides the analysis, with the contemporary changes that bring to the scene alternatives of jouissance, whether in the rampant consumption of objects, or in the insertion in universal symbolic systems, like religion, that explains everything and promises to heal the subject's suffering. The expansion of neo-Pentecostal churches and the insertion of religious belief in the socio-political sphere is analyzed as a form of cultural domination by the offer of relief from anguish and completeness with the mighty Other. In face of this Other without lack, what is the possibility of an encounter with castration?

Keywords : PSYCHOANALYSIS; LACK-OF-BEING; POLITICS; RELIGION.
