Abstract

MARQUES, Thiago. Perfume: The Story of a Murderer: An analysis based on Winnicott's theory. Trivium [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.1, pp. 14-28. ISSN 2176-4891.  http://dx.doi.org/10.18379/2176-4891.2021v1p.13.

The present work presents an analysis referenced in Winnicott's theory about Jean-Baptiste, protagonist of "Perfume: The story of a murderer". Winnicottian concepts about healthy and psychopathological psychoemotional development and the importance of environmental care were used in the analysis. It was found that the Winnicottian theory points out the necessary achievements for healthy development, indicates possible complications and demonstrates the importance of an environment capable of recognizing the individual and providing adequate care. In addition, the application of these concepts in the study of characters in cinematographic works could serve as an instrument for theoretical-conceptual analyzes of psychoanalytic theory.
