Abstract

This study deals with research in art and art, whose theme is violence with the purpose of building the human figure in painting in the artistic production of Medellin Silva. Images of murdered people are used, through the appropriation of photographs found on the internet, which explore the construction of the body and its relationship with violence. It is based on authors such as Robert Muchembled (2012), Hannah Arendt (2009), and in the fields of knowledge of History, Philosophy and Psychology. The corpus of artistic reference is composed by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610), Francis Bacon (1909-1992) and Lucian Freud (1922-2011).
