In the process of deinstitutionalization, which ensures the human right of permanence in the environment of community contact, the concept of a healthy community emphasizes the potential of community and its subjects who live in it. The point of this article is to reflect the relationship between art and community health in the process of deinstitutionalization established with Brazilian Psychiatric Reforms. Finally, the authors make a contextualization about the process in Brazilian Psychiatric Reforms and also about the art used in the mental health field from published references , healthy community and art,. In this sense, the discussions and results refer to the destination from art to community as an agent and promoter of health instruments. Finally, this paper concludes that the process of deinstitutionalization emphasizes an action in primary healthcare and advances the conception of healthy community, believing the expansion of human and community potential trough expressions of art and creativity.
