This paper discusses the current health policy in Brazil, the dliemmas and challenges faced by the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS) in the journey for its implementation. The right to health is practically indistinguishable from the right to life. Being healthy requires proper nutrition, healthy working conditions, decent housing, and sanitation, efficient, environmentally safe and well maintained, the possibility of leisure information. Therefore, it is the result of determining a set of the Brazilian Public Health System which presents itself as a proposal in this direction. In recent decades, the health sector has undergone amazing transformations in major demographic, epidemiological, nutritional and technological. It also follows an account of these changes that directly affect the health of the population. The demographic transition - life expectancy in Brazil has made significant progress in recent decades.
