Abstract

PLAS, Pascal. The intimate delivered to the public: Reports of abuse against women in essays of war. Rev. Psicol. Saúde [online]. 2014, vol.6, n.1, pp. 138-144. ISSN 2177-093X.

The conflicts in the former Yugoslavia as well as the civil war in Rwanda have played a key role in raising awareness of abuse against women, in particular "war rape”. In both cases, the existence of international criminal tribunals that allowed, supported and reinforced the rapid emergence of the victims testimony contrary to what was observed in the two world wars. It is this particular aspect, which is dedicated to the following text. After the return and focus on developing the regulatory framework of the possibility of abuse narrative - International Law, judicial structures - an analysis of the same ways the story of the victims will be carried in the new context of the International Criminal Court as well as in public spaces of expression (research , personal narratives, stories reported given by NGOs, documentary). The approach that approximates the public also leads to question the value and scope of these statements about your reconstructive and restorative impact, but also its limitations, the silences and the inability to put into words.

Keywords : Violence; Rape; International Criminal Court (JPJ); Evidence.
