The CAPSad is a important health center to individuals who have developed problems related to drug use. The study aimed to carry out a socio-demographic survey of users of a CAPSad and analyze the speech of seven members on their perception about the functionality of the services. The database was analyzed and the interviews were based on a qualitative benchmark research, being subjected to the technique of content analysis. Most patients are men over the age of 35 years old who use more than one substance. Alone, alcohol is the most commonly used drug, followed by marijuana and crack. Although, the use usually begins in youth, users often seek help only when the consequences have worsened. Overall, surveyed perceived the functionality of services, describing the unit as a protective environment, care and learning.
