This article describes personality traits and self-concept in children with obesity. Obesity can be considered a public health problem, and the children have developed obesity frames early. The survey included 25 children, aged 8 and 10 years old and diagnosis of obesity, submitted to Children's Personality Traits Scale (CPTS) and children's self-concept Scale (CSCS). The more incident data revealed: the personality - results in lowered psychoticism, high values in extroversion, neuroticism and sociability; to self - injury in the school self-concept, personal and family. No significant differences were observed in relation to age; in relation to sex, there was a higher incidence of neuroticism in girls; Finally, significant correlations between tests were not observed, indicating that there is no relationship between personality and self-concept in the sample investigated. Further studies are needed to possible generalizations.
