We evaluated the quality of life, anxiety, depression, stress and life styles of students and academic methods. 238 young people from two Portuguese universities had participated. The following instruments were used: Whoql Breef; Questionnaire Life style and Academic Methods and Scale of depression, anxiety and stress, were applied in the school environment. Results indicated good quality of life, however, women have achieved better quality of sleep, interpersonal relations they were more motivatedin academic tasks. Anxiety, stress and depression were associated with factor "out of the family home to study", resulting from the changing nature of the development process, the difficulties of maturity, detachment from parents and therefore the adaptive condition.
