The present article aims to explore, from the perspective of intellectual history, some of the conceptual, technicians and ethical problems that arose during the First World War around the notion of war neurosis. We study three axis: the conceptual problem of somatic or psychic nature of the pathologies of war; the discussion on the role in the generation of the illness the objective conditions of the situation and the subjective peculiarities of the one who crossed it; pragmatic and ethical criteria used to reflect on the therapeutic practice. In adirton, we will study the ways through which psychological and psychoanalytic theories and practices expanded during the Great War.
