Objective: Understanding attitudes, thoughts, and feelings that prevent or favor alcohol consumption before and during pregnancy. Method: qualitative descriptive research with twenty pregnant women not diagnosed as alcohol-dependent people. Procedure: Application of the AUDIT questionnaire describing consumptions before and during pregnancy and a semi-structured interview guide concerning the following themes: alcohol consumption and its circumstances; information and knowledge about the consequences of alcohol consumption during pregnancy; screening and prevention. Results: The most consumed drinks are mainly wine, beer, and champagne. The risk of harmful consequences to the baby is the first reason for the decision to stop drinking in pregnancy, but there are hesitations about the consequences of alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
