Abstract

CATANIO, Nicolle; BATTISTELLI, Bruna Moraes  and  RODRIGUES, Luciana. Between social assistance and mental health: producing care practices. Rev. Psicol. Saúde [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.3, pp. 75-88. ISSN 2177-093X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.20435/pssa.v13i3.1326.

This article aims to discuss the care production in Social Assistance (AS) Policy, more specifically, in the Basic Social Protection. For this, we use the cartography method to analyze the constitution of care practices. In this study, the care is understood by the studies of Emerson Merhy, constituted in a between, from the meeting of the Public Health and Social Assistance Policies. Producing care in the AS implies an intermingled action in the context of the users in order to look and intervene with issues such as poverty, hunger and unemployment - producers of precarious living conditions and mental suffering -, putting into discussion how we listen and narrate the stories we hear. Thus, we need a deep analysis of the places we occupy and the racial differences that structure our country, so that we are not violent in our care practices.

Keywords : care; social assistance; cartography.
