Abstract

REIS, Caroline Albertin  and  FERRAZZA, Daniele de Andrade. Harm reduction in a capsad: professional's discourses and practices. Rev. Psicol. Saúde [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.1, pp. 3-18. ISSN 2177-093X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.20435/pssa.v14i1.1240.

This research aimed to analyze speeches and practices of professionals from a Community Mental Health Services for Alcohol and Other Drugs (CAPSad), with special attention to actions from the perspective of the Harm Reduction Policy. Observations were made in the health device and semi-structured interviews were carried out with five team members. From the analysis of the interviews and the field diary, produced through the observations made in that health service, five thematic categories were created. It is concluded that the difficulties of the team in recognizing the Harm Reduction strategies result from several impasses regarding the planning and its execution in the scope of the analyzed service and that it may be related to the training of health professionals in the present time in Brazil, which generally seem distant and decontextualized from the current problems that involve the care and reception of users of alcohol and other drugs
