Abstract

RAVAIOLI, Martina de Paula Eduardo  and  BORGES, Lilian Maria. Psychoeducational practices: psychologist's contributions in primary care. Rev. Psicol. Saúde [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.1, pp. 185-199. ISSN 2177-093X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.20435/pssa.v14i1.1182.

Psychoeducation aims to teach the individual about preventive or therapeutic actions. The objective of this research was to identify ways of using psychoeducational interventions in primary care of Rio de Janeiro municipalities. Twenty-one psychologists answered two questionnaires, one about training and professional performance and the other with questions related to the use of psychoeducation. Seven of these professionals participated in semi-structured interviews to deepen their responses. The questionnaire data were submitted to descriptive statistical analysis and the interview reports were submitted to content analysis. Guiding about emotional issues and self-care were purposes attributed to psychoeducation, which was employed individually and in groups, both in the office, in waiting rooms and in actions in the territory, with variable segments of the population. The study showed important aspects to strengthen psychoeducation practices, including dynamic management of the process and attention to the reality of the communities.
