This article reflects on the psychology themes addressed in a virtual community - social networking site Orkut - during 2004 to 2011. In the social networking site Orkut widely used from 2004 to 2011. The monitoring and mapping of the topics most discussed and posted during that period shows how professionals working in the field of psychology and interested laymen and women favored themes pertaining to Brazilian society. Themes were mapped and aggregated in categories. Social and ethical issues predominated including the expansion of Psychology services/specializations, private problems seeking "psychological" assistance, and the relationship between research and praxis. Thus, the virtual community served as a place of belonging, for social complaint and for the expression of existential critiques on the part of those that constituted the network on a daily basis.
