Abstract

GERMANO, Zeno. Law and Psychology students’ perceptions of family conflict mediation. Psicol. Ensino & Form. [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.2, pp. 18-33. ISSN 2177-2061.

This article is the result of qualitative research to identify how law and psychology students understand Family Conflict Mediation. The research was exploratory, descriptive and correlational, using semi - structured questionnaires to collect the investigated subjects’ responses. Bardin content analysis was used to analyze the data. The sample of law and psychology undergraduates represents two important fields of the Judicial Branch, and so, are key areas in mediation praxis. The results pointed to similar understandings between the two groups of trainees but with greater theoretical coherence among the law students and they indicate that addressing this way of dealing with judicial demands should become increasingly important in both the qualification and praxis of legal system professionals and psychologists.
