Abstract

This article presents a reflection on the discipline of psychology in high school. This topic is exemplified on a semi-structured interview with a teacher who teaches psychology at a public school in Porto Alegre. The article begins with a bibliographic review on the role of discipline psychology in the reality of the school and how it has been understood by the Brazilian educational legislation. Then, the information and the analysis of the interview are discussed. As a general conclusion, it is postulated that there is an urgent need to pay attention for the understandings and possibilities focusing the restructuring proposal of the high school determined by the Secretariat of Education of Rio Grande do Sul.
