This article aims to reflect on teacher identity in courses in psychology, by problematizing the conditions in which the identity of the teacher is formed. It is guided by the concept of identity, the idea of teaching as a profession, the research on teaching in psychology courses, and the training of teachers. This article concludes with considerations pertaining to the context of the performance of psychologist-teachers-an important dimension in the constitution of teacher identity. It is proposed at the end that the specificities of teaching psychology are what characterize the nature of the profession.
