Abstract

AMBIEL, Rodolfo Augusto Matteo; BARROS, Leonardo de Oliveira  and  BATISTA, Helder Henrique Viana. Psychological Assessment Competences of Undergraduate Students in Psychology: Analysis of Teaching and Internship Practice. Psicol. Ensino & Form. [online]. 2017, vol.8, n.2, pp. 3-13. ISSN 2177-2061.  http://dx.doi.org/10.21826/2179-5800201781313.

The goal of this study was to analyze competences for the Psychological Assessment (PA) of senior students of Psychology, as well as to assess instructive aspects such as which tools were more frequently taught and used during the internship, and the number of courses during the major. The study included 100 participants from the 9th (19%) and 10th semester (81%), with a higher concentration from the Southeast region (42%) and from private universities (87%). A sociodemographic survey was used, as well as the Competences Survey for Psychological Assessment (QCAP) and four knowledge questions on Psychological Assessment. Results indicated that in average the students have three courses of PA throughout the major. There is also a lack of theoretical knowledge about the psychological tools and complementary techniques of the assessment process. In addition, the greatest difficulties in the ability in using the tools were related to psychometric and statistical knowledge that supports psychological tests.
