The definition of behavior as an organism-environment interaction that is found in recent publications is questioned. Behavior-environment interactions are one type among several of relations between changes in the organism and changes in the environment. Definitions and uses of the term behavior found in the literature on behavior analysis which are incompatible with such a definition are presented.
