Resumen

FERNANDES, Tales Alexandre Luiz; POPOVITZ, Juliana Maria Bubna  y  SILVEIRA, Jocelaine Martins da. The use of commom factors terminology by clinical behavior analysis. Perspectivas [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.1, pp. 20-32. ISSN 2177-3548.

The common factors theory claims that there are common variables responsible for the equivalence of results among several intervention approaches. The literature indicates that a considerable portion of the variations in the results of a treatment may be explained by said common factors or therapeutic relationship factors and most of them are related to therapist's attributes. The common factors movement became relevant after Rogers prepositions. Furthermore, the critics to psychotherapy efficacy also boosted the studies on common factors. More recently, empirical data drew attention to the naturally reinforcing therapist's features of client's improvement. The goal of this study was to identify the common factors mentions on behavior therapies through time. The method consisted in a systematic review, which checked the mention of common factors throughout time in relevant Clinical Behavior Analysis journals. Results show that 21 out of 27 selected papers referred to therapeutic relationship, with a growth after the coming of Clinical Behavior Analysis. Regarding the expression "common factors" and related words, the number of citations was low. The growing attention given to the therapeutic relationship by Clinical Behavior Analysis through time is discussed.

Palabras clave : Common Factors; Behavior Therapy; Therapeutic Relationship.
