Resumen

CORREA, Beatriz Azem; CANTERO, Claudia Razente  y  MELO, Camila Muchon de. The role of verbal community on self control teaching: Implications of a dualist men view. Perspectivas [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.1, pp. 17-26. ISSN 2177-3548.

This article presents a theoretical and conceptual discussion of self-control, in a behavior radical perspective, and the mediation of verbal community in the acquisition of such repertoire. The development of self-control in society emphasizes "internal agents" as causal determinants of behavior. Self-control teaching strategies are analyzed from this dualistic point of view. The contributions of Behavior Analysis, as a monist science, in the development and shaping of this repertoire are specially emphasized. From this perspective, self-control behaviors presented by individuals should be refined and researches developed. Concluding, the dualistic practice of searching "inside man" the causes for their behaviors, delays an actual useful analysis that clarifies the processes involved in the development of this special behavior repertoire.

Palabras clave : Self-control; self-knowledge; private events; verbal community; dualism.
