The literature on do-say correspondence has been suggesting variables that could influence the verbal report accuracy. This study investigated the effects of a group context in children's self-report on their performance in a competitive task (computerized game). Six children aged between five and ten years-old participated. "Doing" consisted on shooting targets in a computerized game and "saying" consisted reporting on the accuracy of the per formance in the game by clicking on one of the two squares presented on the computer screen (green for hits and red for errors). An ABA design with baseline (LB1), group context and baseline return (LB2) was employed to verify the frequency of corresponding reports of hits and errors on each condition. At the end of each session, the participant reported, individually or in group, depending on the experimental condition, on how many points he/she obtained during the session. The results demonstrated that the group context produced a decrease in the levels of correspondence for three out of the six participants. The group context seems to be an important controlling variable on the children's self-report accuracy. Thus, it is suggested the nature of the task employed (competitive game) as another possible variable to be considered in the controlling of the verbal report accuracy.
