MENEGAT, Marildo. O giro dos ponteiros do relógio no pulso de um morto. Rev. Epos [online]. 2011, vol.2, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 2178-700X.
In view of the fact that political economic critique is at the same time an overcoming of philosophy and the foundation of a critical theory of capitalism, the author exposes a reading of contemporary society whose presupposition is that capitalism as a civilizing process - in the neutral definition of Norbert Elias - came to his end. The passive dissolution of this fetishistic social form comes out as barbarism, that was already an active element of the civilizing process, but now becomes dominant. Dialectic of Enlightenment's foundations are found in Karl Marx's exposure of the concept of capital, demonstrating in this way that Adorno and Horkheimer's formulation should not be stranger to a political economic critique of barbarism.
