This paper analyzes the debate between psychoanalysis and queer theory considering the transgression of sexual and gender normativity forms to which such discourse intends to support. Thus, we explore the challenges posed by both psychoanalytic theory approach to queer theory and its radical refusal, based on this approach with perversion and denial (Verleugnung). We point how the relationship between psychoanalysis and queer theory is dependent on the kind of sexual practice. While psychoanalysis seems ready to consider homosexuality in a positive way, even using the category of perversion, the confrontation with the queer authors seems radical when it comes to consider the gender-related transgressions, such as transexuality. Finally, we seek to highlight some questions and problems which are articulated to this difference of perspective
