This article aims to discuss the question of the spectacle of life, from the operation of police calls occurrences with hostage taking, derived from social conflicts, such as frustrated assaults, domestic incidents, among others that may result in a threat to lives of others. When generated, commonly, such events are conducted by the state police force, specifically the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE). Discuss taking such facts based mainly on the theoretical contributions of Michel Foucault, Guy Debord and Hanna Arendt. Finally, the content shown in this paper is based on experience as a psychologist active in the area of technical assistance in hostage rescue, having followed in real time, the execution of such works.
