SCARPARO, Helena Beatriz Kochenborger; TORRES, Samantha  e  ECKER, Daniel Dall'Igna. Psicologia e ditadura civil-militar: reflexões sobre práticas psicológicas frente às violências de estado. Rev. Epos [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.1, pp. 57-78. ISSN 2178-700X.

This article aims to bring reflexions about the practices of psychology in the face of state violence in times of civil-military dictatorship. First we made a brief historical background on the civil-military dictatorship on the construction of psychology as a supposedly neutral science and its ethical implications facing a political state. Subsequently we mapped the publications that were published in the database of the SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), since 1997, that discuss the relationship between psychology and civil-military dictatorship. In material selection we emphasize the articles that reported on the psychological practices at the time of dictatorship and discussed about the effects of that social context. The material analysis was performed based on a Foucauldian perspective, through the exercise of understanding the production of knowledge as a practice that produces subjects and actions. Results show that certain produced psychology in times of dictatorship, which we named as "official", was provided as a tool to normalize subject to the social environment of the time. From these results we reflect on current professional practices and how they may be serving to sustaining new state violence.
