Abstract

SCHEINVAR, Estela  and  SAVIO, Luan. School violence: effects of normalization and penal practice. Rev. Epos [online]. 2015, vol.6, n.2, pp. 53-69. ISSN 2178-700X.

"School violence", growing concern in Brazilian society, is the object of analyses of the present article, which understands this relation as an effect of practices of normalization based on the penal logic. The text highlights both, the norm and penal logic, as fundamental instruments of the subjective productions that guide the functioning of the structures that guarantee the good performance of a society based on the market. A society that produces, through obedience and punishment, consumption of coactive ways of life. Michel Foucault and Felix Guattari conduce the analyses that takes the text to call into question the laws as immutable truth, problematizing the way truth production turns school a compulsory obligation. Norm and penal practice stand out in school we have today, defining a power relationship, always violent, because school education curtails conducts and desires, through control and punishment.

Keywords : school; violence; normalization; penal logic.
