Abstract

The alcohol/drugs phenomenon that was treated under the law with a punitive-repressive, whose central idea is that users, as a penalty, shall be bound and sent for recovery houses, therapeutic communities and health services. The objective of this study is understand the process of constructing meaning of users referred by the Justice to the CAPSad with three parameters: How to nominate? How to explain? As a stand? The study is qualitative, based on the methodology of Social Constructionism. The method used was of open interviews. It was interviewed 10 individuals referred to treatment by the courts to CAPSad. The analysis was performed using the Association of Ideas Map. The results were organized by themes: Naming the treatment - narratives characterized by affective tone using personal values such as joy and hope; Explaining the treatment - initial fear and insecurity changed during the process giving rise to learning; Positioning - perception and attitude changed towards the Justice's referral. It is concluded that the repertories revealed unique learning and knowledge building, producing changes on perception, daily lives as well as personal ability in dealing with chemical dependency.
