Abstract

FERREIRA, Carlos Renato Pinto et al. The use of theater games as teaching tools in mental health. Saúde Transform. Soc. [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.4, pp. 30-37. ISSN 2178-7085.

The objective was to describe and analyze the experience of the use of theater games, according to Binder Viola Spolin, the teaching of mental health. The study was guided by a qualitative approach. The scenario was the class of Nursing of São Paulo state, with 46 students enrolled in the course Comprehensive Care in Mental Health II. The activities were carried out and described from individual and collective experiences at two different times. Data collection occurred through semi-structured questionnaire based on Binder, beyond the record of non-participating observers. The reports were analyzed from the senses of words, with the use of theoretical support to support the contents thereof. The reports provided valuable insights into the potential of the intervention of the games as a complement of professional training, considering the nurse as a human being consisting of physical, psychological and social as well as customers to whom they receive care.
