Intrafamily violence is a cultural phenomenon, a social problem that is becoming more and more often in our society. The aim of this research was to reflect about the health actions of the Family Health Program (FHP) in Pau dos Ferros - RN, concerning to identification, prevention and intervention over intrafamily violence upon children and teenagers. We made a qualitative, descriptive-exploratory research. We interviewed 52 acting healthcare professionals who work in six FHP. Their speeches were transcripted, analyzed based on a content analysis, and arranged in six different categories. We noticed that some of the professionals are able to identify physical violence when they presented to them, nonetheless, the psychological violence is still unnoticed. We also noticed, from the most part of the professionals, particularly nurses, the lack of diagnosis and notification to the patients. However, they know where their faults are, especially those related to notifications. This happens because there are individual and social barriers such as fear and different ideas about this issue. It also happens to lack support from the city managers and integrality of the service.
