Resumo

The purpose of this research was to analyze the educational approaches used in the process of Health Permanent Education for Hospital Infection Control. Also analyzed the profile of these studies and the concepts of Health Permanent Education addressed the same. One utilized the presuppositions of the literature integrative review by searching data bases online, Bireme and Google Scholar, from 2002 until 2012. The sample consisted of eight articles of this research, which addressed different areas of infection control: intensive care, central supply and sterilization, sanitation and education. One observed the utilization of dialogic and participative methods in some papers but it is still outstanding the presence of the traditional method. Among the methods, there is also a trend of innovation in these educational processes and the search for new ways to achieve the desired results. We emphasize the fact that only one study citing the National Policy for Permanent Education on Health, pointing a significant distance of professionals with such a policy. The low number of publications makes you realize that this topic is largely unexplored by health professionals. These findings should instigate professionals to reflect about their work and to become self-critical besides stimulating them for constant search in order to improve their knowledge and practices.
