The present research of explanatory type has the purpose of characterizing the psychological facts which affect the registration of the elderly in the Universitary Chair. The model was composed of 60 elders; out of them, 60 registered in the Chair and 30 not registered, selected through a non probabilistic technique of intentional selection and volunteer participation of elders residents of Bauta municipality. The instruments applied were the Psycho-affective Scale, Yesavage Test and Dembo- Rubinstein Scale, to determine the psychological factors. The analysis and data processing was done by Fisher Statistical. The Psychological facts that affect the registrations are: self-esteem,life project, adequate self valuation, and motivation toward the study.
