In long-term institutions, the repertoire of social skills reflects directly on the adjustment, socialization and coexistence of the elderly, and it is important to think about interventions that seek to promote human development, quality of life and strengthening of social support. The experience showed the importance of the psychologist in geriatric institutions and the demand for new forms of contemporary practice committed to the well-being of the elderly in psychosocial and cognitive risk.
