Abstract

SILVA, Olga Maria Alves da; ALIPIO, Mikaela Patrícia Pereira  and  MOREIRA, Lisandra Espíndula. Women and domestic violence: experience report from a specialized court. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2016, vol.6, n.3, pp. 145-165. ISSN 2238-152X.

This paper gives an account of an internship experience in Psychology within a multidisciplinary team in a specialized domestic and family court for violence against women in a northeastern city of Brazil. Our objective is to analyze the user profiles of those attended by the multidisciplinary team in 2014 and to problematise the intervention. From a methodological standpoint, we use as primary material for analysis user profile data, their application requests and the internship's field diaries. This enables us to pose questions in order to gain insight into the experience: the character of the end-users attended by the multidisciplinary team; the role and professional practice of Psychology within the legal framework of domestic violence; as well as various articulations within the local care networks.

Keywords : Violence Against Women; Specialized Domestic and Family Court for Violence Against Women; Psychology; Care Network.
