Abstract

CANDIDO, Mario Cesar Carvalho de Moura  and  LAVRADOR, Maria Cristina Campello. Infamous intermittences: madness and otherness in the open city. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2017, vol.7, n.2, pp. 46-62. ISSN 2238-152X.

This paper is based on a partnership built in Vitória-ES with residents of a therapeutical residence, former patients of a Psychiatric hospital. The study focuses on the way how the residents experience and build their relations with the city, treating those experiences as material for a conceptual search that activates the interferences that this process can bring to daily life as a whole, as well as to the perspectives towards care in mental health. Registers in field notebooks were used as a methodological tool. The results show a discussion that tries to identificate the current challenges involved in the care on mental health, as well as activatinglife in it`s creative political dimensions.

Keywords : mental health; city; politics.
