Abstract

RODRIGUES, Isabela Tellis  and  MOREIRA, Janine. The Relation between Health Professionals and SUS Users: Problematizing the Term “Help”. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2017, vol.7, n.3, pp. 43-60. ISSN 2238-152X.

Power relations inside the Family Health Strategy (ESF) are reflections of power relations in society and vary according to the training of each and every professional as well as their social and academic status. Even in the most reduced team of the Family Health Strategy, medicine is at the top of the hierarchy in accordance with a biological logic and a hospital-centric logic. “To have the last word" or the power to silence is directly related to professional status. This logic inherent to relations between professionals is reproduced with service users. To overcome this condition, it becomes necessary to adopt a position of dialogicity to problematise the “logic of help" which ensues from a logic of compassion. This dissolves the notion of superiority within the professional team and installs in its place a logic of solidarity which is only possible from co-responsibilisation within healthcare. The aim of this article is to problematise the notion of "help", the outcome of a university extension project.

Keywords : Family Health Strategy; Power Relations; Dialogicity; Help Logic; Solidarity.
