Abstract

CORDEIRO, Silvia Nogueira; REIS, Maria Elizabeth Barreto Tavares dos; SPAGIARI, Nathália Tavares Bellato  and  ADAMOWSKI, Weronica Derene. Contributions of Psychology to a Multiprofessional Residency in Women's Health: An Experience Report. Rev. Polis Psique [online]. 2017, vol.7, n.3, pp. 100-115. ISSN 2238-152X.

The purpose of this article is to report the experience of integrating a psychologist to a Multiprofessional Residency Program in Women's Health. The work is based on the activities of the first two graduating classes of the program, each composed of 16 residents from the areas of physical education, nursing, pharmacy, nutrition and psychology. During the first year, residents work in Primary Care and, in the second year, in Secondary and Tertiary Care. The participation of psychology in the various fields of residency prompted diverse questioning on its role. In this context, we highlight the challenges and contributions of a psychologist's participation in the multiprofessional team, specifically regarding issues of women's health.
